PRN (As Needed) RN Supervisor - needed at our nursing facility in Humboldt, TN.

Tennessee State Veterans� Home is a long-term care and skilled nursing facility dedicated to caring for Tennessee veterans and their families. The primary function of the RN Supervisor is to provide direct and individualized nursing care to residents, including working as part of the nursing team to assess resident needs, plan and modify care and implement interventions.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Follow established standards of nursing practices and implement facility policy and procedures.
  • Supervise and evaluate all direct resident care and initiate corrective action, as needed.
  • Interpret existing policies and procedures to nursing assistants, restorative nursing assistants, residents, families and physicians.
  • Conduct resident rounds daily, reporting problems to nursing supervisor and initiating corrective action.
  • Occasional supervision of LPN�s and/or non-licensed nursing staff at the direction of the Director of Nursing or Unit Nurse.
  • Assume responsibility for compliance with federal, state and local regulations within the assigned unit.
  • Participate in the employee evaluation process by providing information to the Director of Nursing or Unit Manager.
  • Administer and document direct resident care, medications and treatment per physicians� orders and accurately record all care provided.
  • Provide instructions for appropriate nursing care to licensed nurses and Nursing Assistants.
  • Follow facility admission procedures and communicate resident admission to other departments, physicians and ancillary service providers.
  • Promptly report changes in residents� conditions to the physician, Director of Nursing, responsible party, and take follow-up action as necessary.
  • Competently perform basic nursing skills.
  • Perform all duties assigned in an effective, cooperative, timely and professional manner.
