Overview
Style Optique is an optical boutique at the Arboretum of South Barrington offering eye exams, specialty contact lens fittings, medical eye care, the latest lens technologies, and high quality frames from independent frame manufacturers. We are known for providing personalized and compassionate care and for having a large selection of unique, high-quality frames. We are looking for a friendly optician/optometric technician to join our team.

Job Responsibilities:

• Enthusiastically greet patients and make an excellent first impression.
• Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, register patients, and handle check-in/check-out procedures.
• Clearly explain patients' VSP (Vision Service Plan) insurance benefits and coverage details.
• Provide contact lens insertion and removal training to patients, ensuring comfort and proper technique. (Knowledge of scleral lenses a plus.)
• Review prescriptions from the optometrist and educate patients about their lens options.
• Personalized frame styling. Communicate the benefits of each frame line we offer. "Sell the story" behind the frame line. Actively help patients choose the best frame for their face shape, budget, lifestyle, occupation, etc.
• Help patients maximize their vision insurance benefits or go over our various lens packages for self-pay patients. Communicate the benefits of multiple pairs of glasses, i.e.- sunglasses, computer glasses, spare pair.
• Let patients know about our current eyewear promotions.
• Frame repair, adjustments and troubleshooting
• Quality check glasses coming in from the lab and notify patients when their glasses are ready for pick up.
• Conduct pre-examination testing and perform any additional diagnostic tests as directed by the doctor.
• Take contact lens orders.
• Provide contact lens insertion and removal training to patients, ensuring comfort and proper technique. (Knowledge of scleral lenses a plus.)
• Other duties as assigned.

Skills:

• Excellent sales, customer service, computer, phone etiquette and communication skills required.
• Strong attention to detail
• In-network billing of VSP.
• Knowledge of Revolution EHR a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $ $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 per week
