The schedule is 8am to 4pm Tuesday through Saturday. There is a required on-call rotation. You may be required to work other shifts based on staffing needs. An insurance benefit package is available. Must meet Medicaid requirements and be at least 21 years old and have no more than 2 moving violations on your driving record to meet insurance requirements.

General Description of Position: The primary function of this position is to assist the Community Services Manager, Assistant Director and Director in providing effective and efficient management of the assigned work area. During scheduled shifts, Assistant Managers provide supervision, training, and assistance to all subordinate employees in the area – which may include ensuring all program participants' Individual Plans of Care are strictly followed, while also providing direct care support to participants as needed. Assistant Managers ensure the cleanliness and health & safety compliance requirements are met for the assigned work location(s).

Essential Duties of the Position:

  1. This position requires that the employee read, write, type, speak and comprehend the English language.

  2. This position requires that the employee report to work/training as scheduled, stay awake and alert during work/training, and follow company policy for arranging time away from work.

  3. This position requires that the employee follow all policies and procedures at all times and as written unless official accommodation or dispensation is given by the Executive Director.

  4. Employees in this position will interact with colleagues and participants professionally and in a manner consistent with policy.

  5. This position may simultaneously substitute for any subordinate vacancies.

  6. This position will be required to train employees and/or substitute as a Direct Care Professional in caring for participants including cleaning of all bodily fluids, personal care and hygiene, assistance with eating, safely transferring, repositioning or physically assisting the person (up to 50 pounds) to or from wheelchairs, beds, adaptive equipment, etc.

  7. This position may require extended periods of sitting, standing or walking for the duration of a work assignment.

  8. This position is required to be certified and able to perform CPR, First Aid, and the verbal de-escalation and personal protective components of the Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI). These components may include, but are not limited to, bending, kneeling, reaching and supporting participants who are in crisis to ensure their safety.

  9. This position is required to be certified according to the Department of Health's Certified Medication Assistant training curriculum, and administer medications to participants following the requirements included in this training and per NOWCAP Services policy & procedure.

  10. This position is required to operate a computer and required software effectively and efficiently including typing, navigation, and interpretation of electronic data.

  11. This position is required to provide training in various forms and methods to management, colleagues, and Direct Care Professionals as needed including but not limited to Individual Plans of Care, Behavior Support Plans, adaptive equipment, best practices or methods to working with an individual within their assigned program.

  12. This position requires the ability to work varying days and hours. Participation in the organization's primary on-call program is required.

  13. This position requires that the employee maintain a valid driver's license, maintain an insurable driving record, and operate any vehicle (personal or company owned) on behalf of the organization.

Other Expected Duties/Functions/Competencies/Results:

  1. This position requires that the employee comply with the Department of Health and CARF standards.

  2. This position requires cleaning of worksite which requires bending, lifting, reaching, working on hands and knees (any number of possible scenarios may be experienced), and working with and around cleaning supplies.

  3. This position requires the ability to problem solve individually and with subordinates methods and implementation to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and customer satisfaction with services and supports provided.

  4. This position requires the employee follow verbal and written instructions accurately and correctly.

  5. This position will check their office voicemail (if applicable), email, Therap S-Comm, and T-Logs when arriving for their scheduled shift and throughout their shift to ensure receipt of timely communication.

  6. This position requires the employee ensure timely staff documentation on participant ISPs, GERs, Health Tracking, as applicable, on Therap on a daily basis.

  7. This position requires the employee to provide all necessary training to effectively work with program participants within the organization.

  8. This position assists in daily oversight and management of the assigned Community Services program through direct observation; and provides necessary training to subordinates in the moment (as needed), and follows-up with necessary team members.

  9. This position requires the facilitation/oversight of client/participant meetings.

  10. This position requires the employee to demonstrate effective time management skills to complete duties and meet established deadlines.

  11. This position requires the employee notify appropriate parties of reportable incidents as identified by the Department of Health such as the use of restraint, medication error(s), suspected abuse, neglect, etc. of a participant.

  12. This position will complete an electronic time sheet for the assigned work time as per company policy; and assists in the monitoring and modification of the electronic time sheets for employees under their supervision.

  13. This position requires the employee assist in developing and implementing therapeutic and creative, effective participant education/training curriculums as well as community-based learning and recreational opportunities.

  14. This position requires the employee to communicate with guardians, family members, providers, etc. on a consistent and as needed basis.

  15. This position requires input for performance appraisals of all employees under their supervision, both formally and informally.

  16. This position requires the employee to recommend performance notifications, recognize performance deficits, and conduct records of training and informal counseling reports on subordinates.

  17. This position requires the employee to complete all month-end paperwork, including but not limited to: cash transaction sheets, ordering medications, planning monthly community inclusion activities for the next month, inventories, etc.

  18. This position requires the employee to provide certain quality assurance of health and safety standards in the assigned department during their scheduled shifts, including but not limited to: monthly drills and inspections, etc.

  19. This position will complete the required counts for any medications classified as controlled substances in their assigned work location(s) per organization policy.

  20. This position will ensure participant medications are administered within established timeframes during their scheduled shifts according to assigned Certified Medication Assistant (certified staff).

  21. This position requires performing other duties in a manner which are generally expected and consistent with other similar positions.
