If you enjoy working outdoors, taking pride in well-kept parks and athletic facilities, and aren't afraid to get your hands dirty, the city is looking for a St. Grounds Technician You'll help maintain City parks, landscaping projects, and athletic fields by mowing, weed eating, edging, pruning, removing trash, performing janitorial tasks, and caring for turf—all while interacting professionally with the public and staff.You'll assist with setting up for special events, keep accurate records and daily worksheets, perform preventative maintenance on assigned equipment, help clean up after weather emergencies, and support other departments whenever needed

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES

Maintain city right-of-ways, parks, lots, and alleyways by: Collecting trash and debrisMowing, weed-eating, edging, and blowingTrimming trees and shrubsTraining employees on equipment operationInteracting professionally with management, staff, and the publicMaintain athletic fields and facilities by: Marking fields and measuring for accuracyCleaning courts and replacing equipmentManaging turf and applying field chemicalsPicking up trash and performing general upkeepRepairing facilities (bleachers, parking lots, marquees, irrigation systems)Perform administrative duties including: Logging crew work activitiesRecording chemical applicationsMaintaining inventoryAssisting with setup for special events
