Nursing Assistant

Schedule:
7am-7:30p, Full/Days, 36 hrs. Every 3rd weekend.

General Summary

• Administering direct and indirect nursing care to the patients assigned under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), according to hospital policy.
• Actively support and participate in the activities of the unit.
• Specific duties shall be assigned according to department and the care delivery system of the unit.
• Assist, under direction of the RN, in providing basic patient care duties including, but not limited to, taking vital signs, patient hygiene activities, feeding and bathing of patients, and post-mortem care. Perform activities of daily living appropriate to the patient's condition. Administer, under direction of the RN, basic treatments to patient including, but not limited to, preparing special procedure set-up, I & O measurement, collection of urine and stools, application of cold/heat packs. Perform Glucose monitoring.
• Provide unit support by responding to call lights within 2-5 minutes, passing water and linens, locating equipment, stocking supplies, cleaning and other non-clinical duties assigned by the RN.
