Make a Difference as a Process Technician Apprentice
ANPI has an immediate opening for a Process Technician Apprentice. The role reports to the Operations Supervisor and will be instrumental in maintaining the safe and reliable running of the plants.

Key Responsibilities

  • Train to become a fully competent Process Technician, which involves more responsibility in the production process
  • Operate rail and truck loading and unloading equipment, including conveyors, belts, buckets, pumps, hoses, etc.
  • Operate rail switch engine
  • Open and close large valves and electrical switches
  • Climb on top of trucks and on top of and inside rail cars to inspect interiors
  • Obtain samples of manufactured or purchased product to facilitate quality control inspection
  • Perform basic laboratory chemical analysis of products throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Measure and monitor tank levels
  • Operate scales
  • Participate as a member of the Emergency Response Team (ERT).
  • Provide detailed written records of tasks performed, including tank levels, quantities transferred, relief instructions, etc.
  • Any other duties as assigned

Physical Demands

  • Position requires strenuous physical work. Heavy lifting, pushing or pulling of objects up to 50 pounds frequently. Weight over 50 pounds is to be lifted with assistance only.
  • Ability to climb and descend multi-level catwalks, stairs and ladders, move in and about piping and structural supports and using fine motor skills constantly.
  • Eyesight must be a minimum of 20/40 vision, corrected with spectacle lenses. Contact lenses may never be worn on plant.
  • Must have good hearing to be able to hear signals, horns, phones, or various operating sounds of the Plant.
  • The ongoing ability to participate with all duties assigned within their respective response teams, i.e. entry level suits, decontamination, rescue, confined space entry, Fire Brigade extinguisher use, etc.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of experience in manufacturing, construction, maintenance or a similar industry preferred
  • Chemical manufacturing operation experience preferred
  • Must be available to work rotating shifts, weekends, nights and holidays
