We are seeking a full time Residential Technician (BHT) & Cook for our new Residential Treatment Center in Laveen, Arizona
- Full Time & Part Time available (Non Exempt)
- Schedule Varies — Primarily daytime hours; weekend rotation may be required
- Pay Rate: $18 - $22 an hour (DOE)
Key qualifications:
- Must be 21 years or older
- High school diploma or GED (required)
- Food Handler's Card (or ability to obtain before preparing meals independently)
- Cooking or meal-prep experience preferred (home, restaurant, group home, or residential setting)
- A valid driver's license and documentation of appropriate automobile insurance.
- Ability to pass employee background checks (AZ fingerprint clearance card, and clean local, national registries, APS Register, and OIG Exclusion)
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and provide TB clearance.
- Valid CPR / First Aid Certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
- Experience in behavioral health, recovery support, residential treatment, social services, nonprofit or community work related to substance use or recovery
Job Summary:
Into Action Recovery is opening a new 10-bed Behavioral Health Residential Facility in Laveen, AZ. We are seeking a dependable, compassionate Residential Technician (BHT) & Cook to support clients in early recovery, maintain a safe treatment environment, and prepare nutritious meals for residents according to program guidelines.
This position combines all responsibilities of a Residential Technician—including client supervision, documentation, safety checks, crisis support, transportation, and group support—with daily meal preparation and kitchen operations.
Our program offers clinical counseling, case management, recovery and resilience programming, and 12-step facilitation services. The residential facility is scheduled to open on January 10, 2026.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain client and facility safety at all times
- Assist with new client admissions (searches, belongings inventory, paperwork, screenings)
- Conduct and document shift rounds, shift notes, and incident reports
- Provide client supervision and support throughout daily routines
- Monitor and document client self-administration of medications (E-MAR)
- Facilitate or support psychoeducational groups as assigned
- Transport clients in company vehicles
- Collect urine drug screens per policy
- Maintain facility cleanliness, safety, and inventory
- Support crisis management and de-escalation using approved techniques
- Participate in staff meetings and treatment team communication
Cooking & Kitchen Duties
- Prepare daily meals according to menu and dietary guidelines
- Follow safe food handling and sanitation standards
- Maintain a clean, organized kitchen and dining area
- Track food inventory and report purchasing needs
- Store food safely according to temperature and labeling requirements
- Serve meals on time and assist clients with basic meal-prep skills where appropriate
