Loader Operator

The Loader Operator is responsible for moving material throughout the factory and ensuring the achievement of smooth receiving, stocking, and shipping.

Essential Functions

• Direct truck drivers during loading and unloading
• Operate scale, record weights and dimensions accurately
• Operate packaging equipment to securely transport inbound, cross-dock, and outbound loads
• Load and unload material at the standard rate of production
• Inspect material handling equipment before operating, record data from the inspection
• Visually differentiate between similar metals
• Assist in other areas and perform other duties, as needed

Qualifications and Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required 
• 1+ year(s) experience operating heavy equipment
• Ability to consistently comply with PPE and safety standards while on the production premises
• Pass certifications on all materials handling equipment on site
• Experience working in a 24/7 production environment
• Strong work ethic with a positive attitude

Work Environment

• The noise level is usually very loud
• Regularly works near moving mechanical parts
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs, several times per day
• The buildings are heated during the winter, but conditions could be cold in the winter & hot during the summer
• The processing areas are dirty & wet at times
• Processing facilities/areas are dusty
