We are seeking a motivated and reliable Material Handler to join our dynamic logistics team in Virginia Beach, Virginia. In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of physical tasks including moving materials, loading and unloading trucks, and ensuring warehouse organization. Your attention to detail and commitment to safety will be paramount in maintaining efficient operations. The ideal candidate will have experience in a warehouse environment and a strong understanding of material handling equipment. Responsibilities:
- Receive, identify, and store incoming materials and products.
- Load and unload shipments from trucks and other vehicles.
- Transport materials to and from production, storage, and shipping areas.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Conduct regular inventory checks and report discrepancies.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to all safety standards.
- Ensure all materials are handled with care to prevent damage.
- Assist with shipping and receiving as needed.
- Follow all company policies and procedures, especially those related to safety and PPE.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth warehouse operations and meet production goals.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge of logistics best practices.
- Comply with all regulations regarding heavy lifting and proper lifting techniques.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role is preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
- Familiarity with warehouse equipment and safety procedures.
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of basic inventory management.
- Commitment to workplace safety and the use of required PPE.
- Excellent physical stamina and ability to stand, walk, and lift for extended periods.
- Understanding of logistics and supply chain operations.
