About
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Material Handler to join our dynamic warehouse team in Washington, D.C. This role is crucial for ensuring the efficient flow of materials within our facility. The Material Handler will be responsible for receiving, processing, and distributing materials to various departments. You will work closely with other warehouse staff to maintain an organized and safe working environment. Key responsibilities include operating forklifts and other material handling equipment, loading and unloading trucks, and maintaining inventory accuracy. Attention to detail and a strong understanding of warehouse procedures are essential for success in this position.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, identify, and stock incoming materials.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and trailers.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Assist with inventory counts and reconciliation.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety regulations.
- Follow all company policies and procedures, including proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Perform other duties as assigned by warehouse management.
Requirements:
Must be able to perform tasks involving heavy Lifting, typically up to 50 pounds. Experience in Logistics is a plus. A strong commitment to Safety protocols is mandatory. High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Ability to work independently or as part of a team. Excellent communication skills. Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environment. Standing and walking for extended periods is required. Valid driver's license may be required. Flexible schedule availability, including potential overtime and weekends.
