Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Inventory Control Specialist in Des Moines, Iowa, to oversee and manage our warehouse inventory with precision and efficiency. This role is critical for maintaining accurate stock levels, minimizing discrepancies, and ensuring the smooth operation of our logistics. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of inventory management systems and a commitment to maintaining a safe and organized environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and maintain accurate inventory records within the warehouse management system (WMS).
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits to verify stock levels.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies promptly and accurately.
  • Implement and maintain inventory control procedures to prevent loss and damage.
  • Analyze inventory data to identify trends and areas for improvement in our logistics operations.
  • Coordinate with receiving and shipping departments to ensure efficient inventory flow.
  • Oversee the organization and layout of warehouse storage areas for optimal accessibility and Safety.
  • Manage returns and restock processes, ensuring accuracy.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and Safety regulations.
  • Train other staff members on inventory control procedures and the proper use of PPE.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus.
  • Proven experience in inventory control, warehouse management, or a similar role.
  • Proficiency with WMS and other inventory management software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including some Lifting (up to 50 lbs).
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Knowledge of logistics and supply chain principles.
  • Familiarity with warehouse Safety best practices.
  • Must be diligent about wearing appropriate PPE.
  • Excellent organizational and communication abilities.
