About
We are seeking a skilled Warehouse Technician for our state-of-the-art facility in Austin, Texas. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and optimal functioning of various warehouse equipment and systems. This includes conveyor belts, sorting machines, forklifts, pallet jacks, and other essential machinery that keeps our logistics operations running smoothly. You will perform routine inspections, conduct preventative maintenance, and troubleshoot issues as they arise to minimize downtime and ensure operational efficiency. A strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems is essential. You will also play a key role in ensuring a safe working environment by adhering to all safety regulations, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). The ability to diagnose problems, perform effective repairs, and document your work is paramount. This position requires physical dexterity, including moderate lifting (up to 35 lbs) and the ability to work in various warehouse conditions. Your expertise will directly contribute to the productivity and success of our distribution center. Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on warehouse equipment (conveyors, sorters, lifts, etc.).
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues on equipment.
- Conduct preventative maintenance to minimize equipment downtime and ensure longevity.
- Respond promptly to equipment malfunctions and provide timely repairs.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities.
- Ensure all equipment is operated safely and in compliance with safety regulations.
- Wear appropriate PPE at all times while performing duties.
- Assist in the installation and setup of new warehouse equipment.
- Work collaboratively with operations teams to address equipment-related challenges.
- Contribute to maintaining a safe and orderly warehouse environment.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent; technical certifications preferred.
- Proven experience as a maintenance technician, ideally in a warehouse or logistics setting.
- Strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Experience with preventative maintenance programs.
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools.
- Ability to perform tasks requiring moderate lifting (up to 35 lbs) and physical exertion.
- Commitment to safety protocols and proper PPE usage.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with a fast-paced distribution environment.
