We are looking for a meticulous Receiving Clerk to join our team in Grand Rapids, Michigan. In this role, you will be responsible for the accurate and efficient processing of incoming shipments. Your primary duties will include verifying, inspecting, and documenting all incoming goods, ensuring they match purchase orders and are free from damage. This position is vital for maintaining the integrity of our inventory and supporting our logistics operations. You will work closely with suppliers and our internal warehouse team to resolve any discrepancies and ensure timely stock put-away. A keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to safety are essential. Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and damage.
- Verify received goods against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Document all incoming shipments, noting any discrepancies or damages.
- Enter receiving data into the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Tag and label received items appropriately.
- Coordinate with vendors and carriers regarding incoming deliveries.
- Communicate any issues or discrepancies to the appropriate personnel.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area.
- Adhere to all safety procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a receiving or inventory control role preferred.
- Proficiency in data entry and using warehouse management systems.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in recording information.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Basic understanding of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Willingness to follow safety guidelines and wear required PPE.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
This position requires a dedication to accuracy and safety, playing a key role in our logistics flow. We ensure all necessary PPE is provided.
