We are seeking a certified Forklift Operator to join our logistics team in Minneapolis, Minnesota. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently moving, locating, relocating, stacking, and counting inventory items. Your role is critical in ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse, from receiving to shipping. This position requires precision, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety protocols. You will operate various types of forklifts and potentially other warehouse equipment. We are dedicated to maintaining a secure work environment and expect all team members to uphold our high standards for safety and efficiency in all logistics operations.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) to move, stack, and retrieve materials within the warehouse.
- Load and unload incoming and outgoing freight safely and efficiently.
- Inspect forklift equipment daily and report any maintenance issues or damage.
- Safely transport products from receiving to storage areas, and from storage to shipping docks.
- Organize and maintain warehouse inventory, ensuring proper placement and accessibility.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Follow specific customer order instructions for picking, packing, and staging.
- Assist with cycle counts and inventory verification as needed.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment, ensuring aisles and safety equipment are unobstructed.
- Identify and report any safety hazards or equipment malfunctions immediately.
- Contribute to overall team productivity and efficiency within the logistics department.
- Perform other warehouse duties as assigned.
Must possess a valid forklift operator certification and have proven experience operating various types of forklifts. Minimum of 1 year of experience as a forklift operator in a warehouse or logistics environment. Ability to perform physical tasks, including occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs. Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and the ability to enforce them. Must have a keen eye for detail and be highly organized. Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness. Must be at least 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the US. A demonstrated commitment to workplace safety is essential. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good communication skills. Must be able to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment and adapt to changing priorities. This role requires a reliable individual with a strong work ethic and punctuality. Understanding of general logistics principles is a plus.
