About
We are hiring a dedicated Material Handler for our facility in St. Louis, Missouri. As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for the movement, storage, and retrieval of materials within the warehouse. This role is crucial for maintaining the flow of goods and supporting production and shipping operations. Your attention to detail and commitment to safety will be key to success in this position.
Responsibilities:
- Load and unload materials from trucks and other transport vehicles.
- Move materials to and from storage areas using appropriate equipment.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Inspect equipment before use to ensure proper functioning and adherence to safety standards.
- Ensure all materials are handled with care to prevent damage.
- Maintain inventory records by recording movements of materials.
- Follow all instructions regarding the proper use of PPE , such as gloves and safety shoes.
- Assist in organizing the warehouse layout to optimize logistics and accessibility.
- Perform tasks that require manual lifting of materials, often exceeding 50 lbs.
- Keep work areas clean and organized.
- Support shipping and receiving departments as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar role preferred.
- Certification or willingness to obtain certification for operating forklifts and other equipment.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual labor.
- Understanding and commitment to workplace safety regulations.
- Familiarity with various types of PPE and their proper use.
- Knowledge of basic warehouse operations and logistics .
- Good physical stamina and coordination.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Reliable attendance and work ethic.
