About
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Material Handler to join our dynamic logistics team in Chicago, Illinois. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials throughout our warehouse. This includes receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping various goods. You will operate forklifts and other material handling equipment, ensuring all items are tracked accurately in our inventory system. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety are paramount. You will work closely with other warehouse personnel to maintain a smooth workflow and meet daily production targets. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload trucks, ensuring proper securing of goods.
- Verify incoming and outgoing shipments against documentation.
- Maintain accurate inventory records using our Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Pick and pack orders accurately and in a timely manner.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment to ensure proper working order.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures, including proper lifting techniques.
- Participate in inventory counts and cycle counts.
- Keep the work area clean and organized.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve departmental goals.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role is preferred.
- Certification for operating forklifts is a plus.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs).
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to all safety protocols, including the correct use of PPE.
