Position Description:

We are seeking an experienced
Construction Manager
to provide senior field leadership for large-scale
telecom, structured cabling, and mission-critical infrastructure projects
, including
data center new builds and retrofits
. This role is responsible for the
day-to-day oversight of Infrastructure Technician teams
, ensuring projects are delivered
safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards
.

This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for professionals who thrive in fast-paced construction environments, excel at managing large field teams, and bring deep technical expertise in
fiber optics, low-voltage systems, and structured cabling
. The Construction Manager will serve as the
on-site point of contact
for construction operations and play a key role in workforce development, safety leadership, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and enforce a
    strong safety-first culture
    , ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety programs, and client site policies
  • Take ownership of project safety initiatives, including incident investigations, root cause analysis (RCA), and lessons learned
  • Plan, organize, and oversee daily field operations for telecom and structured cabling installations
  • Develop and maintain
    5-week lookahead schedules
    , workforce plans, and activity sequencing to meet project milestones
  • Manage field workforce allocation to optimize productivity, quality, and budget performance
  • Coordinate with project management and procurement teams to ensure timely delivery of materials to job sites
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to field technicians, ensuring compliance with
    ANSI/TIA, BICSI, NEBS
    , and other industry standards
  • Oversee testing and commissioning activities, including
    OTDR testing, power meter validation, and QA/QC processes
    , prior to system turnover
  • Identify design discrepancies or scope gaps and initiate RFIs and change control processes as needed
  • Serve as the on-site customer liaison for construction-related matters and participate in internal and client meetings
  • Partner closely with QA/QC teams to ensure installation quality and drive punch list resolution
  • Support hiring, onboarding, training, and performance evaluations for field staff
  • Ensure all required field reports, documentation, and closeout materials are completed accurately and on time

Required Skills / Education:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required
  • 3–5 years of supervisory or construction management experience
    on large, multi-million-dollar telecom or structured cabling projects
  • Proven experience managing
    large field teams (100+ personnel)
    , preferably across multiple work areas or shifts
  • Strong knowledge of
    low-voltage systems, fiber optic infrastructure, and structured cabling installations
  • Demonstrated experience with
    data center or mission-critical infrastructure projects
    (preferred)
  • Solid understanding of OSHA regulations and construction safety standards
  • Ability to read and interpret complex construction drawings, specifications, and schedules
  • Experience managing testing, commissioning, and quality assurance for telecom systems
  • Strong leadership, communication, conflict-resolution, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency with
    MS Office, Bluebeam
    , and construction management software
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic construction environment
  • Willingness to travel locally;
    driving is required

Preferred Certifications:

  • OSHA 30-Hour Certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
  • BICSI Technician (TECH)
  • BICSI Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD)
  • Experience leading
    union telecom crews
    and working within collective bargaining environments (preferred)
