Construction Helper

Job Description

Under direct supervision, responsible for assisting skilled trades workers. Provides semi-skilled duties in the performance of a variety of maintenance and repair tasks within the assigned craft area at an apprentice level.

Responsibilities

• Assists skilled trade workers with routine installations, construction tasks, and preparation of work areas.

• Assists trade personnel in tasks such as insulating ductwork, prepping surfaces for paint, and general construction site duties.

• Performs site cleanup and organizes tools, materials, and debris as directed.

• Performs area housekeeping.

• Performs similar semi-skilled duties within the assigned craft area (excluding electrical and plumbing) and trains for higher level positions.

• Performs all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Possesses mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn construction techniques, equipment use, and job site procedures.
• Ability to perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Self-motivated and directed; ability to absorb new ideas and concepts quickly.

EDUCATION:

• High school diploma or GED is required.

LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS:

• Valid TX Driver's License is required - must have a clear driving record.

Required Skills

One (1) year related experience is required.
