Columbus Noor Academy is seeking a dedicated and experienced Part-Time Paraprofessional to join our team. This role is essential for supporting our teachers and fostering a positive, engaging learning environment for our students. The ideal candidate is passionate about education and committed to helping children succeed.

Key Details

• Location: Columbus Noor Academy, Columbus, Ohio
• Position Type: Part-Time, School Days Only
• Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (must align with the school calendar)
• Compensation: $22.00 per hour
• Benefits: School Employees Retirement System (SERS) enrollment

Responsibilities

• Assist classroom teachers with instructional activities, preparing materials, and managing the classroom.
• Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, reinforcing lessons and academic concepts.
• Supervise students during non-instructional times, including lunch, recess, and transitions.
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe learning environment.
• Implement behavior management strategies as directed by the teacher and school administration.
• Communicate effectively and respectfully with students, staff, and parents.

Qualifications

• Required:
• Minimum of 1-2 years of proven experience working directly with children in an educational or childcare setting.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Successful completion and passing score on the ParaPro assessment exam. (We will support you in taking this exam).
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

• A caring and professional demeanor.

• Preferred:

• Experience working in a school environment (K-12).
• Fluency in the Somali language is highly desirable to support our student and family population.
