Radiologic Technologist

Thornapple River Orthopedics is looking for a full time radiologic technologist (RTR) to join our team which consists mainly of registered rad techs ,medical assistants, front desk receptionists, Physician assistants and physicians.

Duties:

• Perform general diagnostic radiological procedures utilizing standardized positioning, As Low As Reasonably Achievable (ALARA) concepts and immobilization techniques to minimize patient movement and maximize patient safety. Produces x-ray images of specified body areas as directed by physician or radiologist.
• Ensure the protection of patients from undue exposure to radiation through the utilization of lead shields and various safety factors.
• Maintains imaging equipment through safe handling and assisting in necessary quality assurance. Contacts service personnel and notifies management of malfunctioning equipment.
• Completes proper patient identification and order verification.
• Evaluates images and data for technical quality, manipulates display parameters and pushes images to picture archiving and communication system (PACS) as the accepted electronic format for permanent patient record, assures proper identification is evident.
• Perform other duties as front desk receptionist and/or Medical Assistant if/when needed within appropriate guidelines as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Required Associates Degree or equivalent of experience in related field.
• CRT-Radiographer (R)-ARRT upon hire required.
