MORE ABOUT US
For more than 150 years, Cass County has proudly served and protected our residents as the most populous county in North Dakota. Our mission is to maintain a safe environment where everyone can enjoy a happy, healthy life. YOUR DAY-TO-DAY
As our Motor Grader Operator, you'll begin your days by inspecting your motor grader and addressing any minor fixes so you can hit the road with confidence, then you'll manage your own route-reshaping gravel profiles, eliminating washboards, and maintaining proper crown-while staying in sync with the Highway Superintendent as daily conditions evolve; when snow arrives, you pivot fast to plow with the motor grader and sometimes a tandem axle truck, and between events you'll assist mechanics in preparing graders for winter, perform daily inspections and repairs, oversee maintenance graveling by contractors and county staff, tackle building repairs at outlying shops, and occasionally mow ditches with a tractor and mower; throughout, you'll balance autonomy with safety, time management, and service to the traveling public.
This is a full‑time, year‑round position based in Argusville, ND, featuring four 10‑hour days from spring through fall. You must be able to report to work within 30 minutes during emergency events, which can include after-hours, weekends, and holidays.
