Polpette Pizza & Pasta is an energetic Italian trattoria celebrating regional flavours, handmade pastas, signature meatballs, and comforting classics. As we continue to build our team, we're looking for Server Assistants who are passionate about food, hospitality, and creating exceptional guest experiences.

Position Overview: Server Assistant

Server Assistants play a vital role in the flow and success of our dining room. This position is perfect for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy working as part of a team, and take pride in providing warm, attentive service. You'll support servers and kitchen teams while ensuring guests feel welcomed, cared for, and excited to return.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet and engage guests in a friendly, professional manner
• Start tables with water service and ensure refills throughout the meal
• Assist with clearing and resetting tables efficiently
• Deliver food to guests accurately using correct seat positions and drop lines
• Communicate dietary needs and allergy information clearly
• Ensure proper garnishing, plating, and presentation of all dishes
• Maintain service standards including "Full Hands, Always"
• Confirm tables are properly set with silverware, condiments, and glassware
• Assist servers and managers with guest requests and table needs
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of service and expediting areas
• Stock plates, glassware, utensils, and service stations
• Clean and maintain trays, highchairs, booster seats, and service equipment
• Wash, polish, and store glassware
• Support opening and closing duties, including restocking
• Communicate effectively with kitchen and front-of-house teams
• Process guest payments accurately when required
• Uphold health, safety, and company standards at all times
• Thank guests sincerely and contribute to a positive dining atmosphere

Skills & Requirements

• Valid Smart Serve Certification
• Previous experience in a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant or cocktail bar (preferred)
• Strong knowledge of wine, beer, spirits, and non-alcoholic beverages
• A genuine passion for hospitality and guest service
• Positive attitude with the ability to work well under pressure
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work independently and efficiently
• Flexible availability, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25–40 lbs
• Professional appearance and attention to detail
