The Structural Engineer 3 position requires 7-10 years heavy industrial/power plant experience and an accredited bachelors degree in engineering. Job responsibilities include providing structural engineering services and field support, conducting preparation of designs and calculations, conducting site walk downs of construction sites, developing cost estimates and material takeoffs, providing schedule and staffing input for projects, and producing and checking structural steel design calculations and drawings. Skillsets and expertise required for this position include detailed knowledge of structural steel and concrete design principles and industry methodologies, significant structural steel connection design experience, proficiency with structural codes and standards, extensive knowledge of heavy industrial structures and components, strong computer skills - proficiency with structural computer programs such as STAAD PRO, proficiency with OSHA regulations, able to coordinate and manage multiple small to mid-sized, single or multi-discipline projects, able to perform structural inspections and provide written report, strong problem solving and decision making abilities, and the ability to build effective relationships with plant staff, design engineering staff and/or vendors.

Structural Engineer: JOB SUMMARY The position is responsible for structural design work to support client Transmission and Distribution Substation Design Group as well as providing support to the Transmission Line Design Group. The Engineer will produce engineering drawings, specifications, and material requirements for structural steel and concrete foundations, etc. with an emphasis on safety, quality, scheduling, and costs. The position will require some travel (approximately 15%) and will require reporting to the Forest Park office a minimum of four days a week. MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: Make SAFETY our number one priority using a Safety First mentality and leading by example. Prepare high quality calculation and design packages needed to construct substation and transmission facilities using CAD-based tools, based on client design standards. The Engineer in the Transmission Civil Design organization will be responsible for designing and analyzing new or modified existing substation structures. The Engineer will be expected to perform reinforced concrete foundation design and structural steel analysis/design on an as needed basis. The Engineer will work with other engineers to help in their development and knowledge
