We are seeking a diligent Material Handler to join our Durham, North Carolina team. This role is integral to the smooth functioning of our warehouse and logistics operations. The Material Handler will be responsible for moving, sorting, and organizing materials within the facility. Key duties include receiving shipments, unloading trucks, stocking inventory, and preparing orders for dispatch. You will operate various equipment such as pallet jacks and hand trucks to facilitate the movement of goods. A strong commitment to workplace safety, including the correct use of PPE, is essential. The ideal candidate is physically fit, detail-oriented, and works well in a team environment. Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics setting is beneficial. Responsibilities:
- Loading and unloading materials from trucks and containers
- Moving materials to and from production, storage, and order areas
- Sorting and organizing inventory
- Assisting with shipping and receiving functions
- Operating manual and powered pallet jacks
- Maintaining a clean and organized warehouse environment
- Adhering to all safety regulations and procedures
- Supporting other warehouse staff as needed
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in a warehouse or material handling role is preferred
- Ability to perform consistent lifting, up to 50 lbs
- Good physical stamina and dexterity
- Understanding of basic warehouse operations and logistics
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team
- Commitment to workplace safety and proper use of PPE
This position requires a strong focus on physical tasks and safety compliance. The Material Handler is key to maintaining efficient logistics flow, and adherence to all safety protocols, including the appropriate use of PPE and safe lifting practices, is a primary responsibility. We emphasize a culture of safety and efficiency.
