About
Our Jacksonville, Florida, logistics center is seeking a skilled Material Handler to join our dedicated team. This position is essential for managing the flow of materials throughout our facility, ensuring efficient operations from receiving to shipping. As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for operating various types of material handling equipment, moving inventory, and maintaining a safe and organized workspace. We are looking for individuals who are safety-conscious, reliable, and have experience with warehouse equipment. This role is key to our supply chain success and offers a great opportunity to grow within the logistics industry.
Responsibilities:
- Operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and order pickers, safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and other transport vehicles.
- Move materials to and from storage areas, production areas, and shipping docks.
- Inspect equipment regularly for proper functioning and safety, reporting any issues immediately.
- Organize and maintain warehouse inventory, ensuring proper placement and accessibility.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assist with receiving and shipping functions as needed, including verifying quantities and inspecting for damage.
- Perform cycle counts and assist with inventory accuracy.
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work environment, free from hazards.
- Assist in the training of new material handlers on safety and operational procedures.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency and productivity of the logistics team.
- Perform other warehouse duties as assigned by management.
Proven experience as a Material Handler or similar role, with demonstrated proficiency in operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment. Must possess a valid forklift operator certification. Ability to perform tasks requiring frequent lifting (up to 50 lbs), bending, and standing for extended periods. Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and a firm commitment to maintaining a safe work environment. Knowledge of material handling techniques and logistics operations. Must be at least 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the US. Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness. Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic are essential. Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team. Good communication skills. Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environment. This role requires a safety-minded individual with a proactive approach to operational efficiency and a willingness to learn.
