About

Job Summary

We are a family child care program that has proudly served children and families for over 30 years. Our center is known for its warm, nurturing, home-like environment where children feel safe, loved, and supported every day.

We are currently hiring Toddler Teachers for both Lead and Assistant roles to join our long-standing, close-knit team. The ideal candidates are dependable, hands-on educators who genuinely enjoy being on the floor with children, guiding development through play, routine, and connection, not just supervision.

This role is active and physical in nature and best suited for individuals who are comfortable lifting, bending, sitting on the floor, and moving quickly between activities while maintaining a calm, positive presence with toddlers.

Duties

  • Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities that support social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth
  • Actively supervise children at all times, both indoors and outdoors
  • Sit on the floor, lift children, bend, squat, and transition up and down quickly as part of daily care routines
  • Support daily caregiving needs, including diapering, feeding, handwashing, and rest routines
  • Observe and support individual developmental milestones with patience and consistency
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom
  • Use positive behavior guidance strategies appropriate for toddler development
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with families about daily activities and progress
  • Collaborate with team members to support classroom routines and center-wide expectations
  • Follow all health, safety, and licensing requirements, including first aid and emergency procedures

Qualifications

  • Experience working with young children in child care, preschool, daycare, or similar settings preferred
  • Understanding of toddler development and age-appropriate practices
  • Ability to manage a classroom environment with structure, warmth, and consistency
  • Physically able to meet the demands of the role, including lifting, bending, sitting on the floor, and moving quickly
  • Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
  • First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • CDA, early childhood coursework, or related certifications are a plus
  • Experience in special education or working with diverse learners is welcomed but not required
