Responsible for implementation of a broad range of programs for youth between the ages of 5-12 and that prepares youth for success and creates a Club environment that facilitates achievement of

Qualifications

Safe and Positive Environment

  1. Actively engages and addresses the needs of Club Members
  2. Provide immediate assistance to youth in need
  3. Represents self as a positive representative of BGCT
  4. During work hours, focus full attention on Members
  5. Ensure that Club equipment (play equipment, athletic balls, books, tables, chairs, etc.) is in good working order
  6. Ensure safe arrival/departure of Club Members at enrolled site location
  7. Support Members in emergency drills/routines
  8. Know and practice safety policies including transitions and bathroom usage
  9. Be aware of surroundings and environment (uninvited guests, unknown vehicles, etc.) to minimize possible harm, hurt or injury
  10. Ensure directions and expectations are clear for all Club Members
  11. Ensure Members feel welcomed and valued
  12. Routinely scan program area for safety hazards (cleaning chemicals, exposed electrical equipment, excess water, etc.), and report findings
  13. Assist Club Members with storage of their personal belongings (book bags, coats, lunch boxes, etc.)
  14. Acknowledges youths feelings and appropriate behavior
  15. Reinforce emotional and physical safety
  16. Ensure safe use of the internet
  17. Responsible for opening and closing down facilities during program time
  18. Set up program space to prepare for the day to ensure safety of members

Fun

  1. Participates in activities alongside Members
  2. Promotes silliness, laughter, and creativity
  3. Plan and facilitate opportunities for youth voice when making choices in activities and programming

  5. Know the names of Club Members, introduce yourself to Club Members

  8. Develop and maintain supportive relationships with others (school district staff, families, and volunteers, etc.) to meet the needs of Club Members
  9. Be a positive role model for Members
  10. Provide onsite support at schools prior to school pick up, if applicable
  11. Encourages positive growth and development
  12. Inspires improved sense of self and support to overcome barriers
  13. Provides genuine and honest investment in each members present and future
  14. Create ongoing and consistent opportunities for youth to share what they are thinking and feeling\
  15. Cultivate rapport with parents and primary care givers
  16. Engage youth in setting rules and expectations that promote respect in adult and peer relationships

Opportunities & Expectations

  1. Ensures compliance with BGCT policies & procedures
  2. Attend staff meetings and trainings
  3. Maintains daily contact with team, to determine opportunities and challenges
  4. Assist members with routine clean up throughout program time, and at the end of program time (no trash on the floor, books and games neatly put away, chairs pushed in, and not materials or supplies on the floor)
  5. Ensure youth are positively engaged in programs and activities
  6. Commit to work schedule (requests for leave must be in accordance with company policy), be timely, and be present
  7. Responsible for documentation and data tracking as directed by supervisor or site coordinator
  8. Work together to achieve program objectives and goals
  9. Provide and receive information as warranted, and provide guidance and consistent recognition of members

  1. Exercise authority to recognize Members who are following directions, engaged in activities and share news with parents
  2. Focus on positives
  3. Celebrate and promote acceptance

  5. Provide praise, encouragement, and support
  6. Display exhibits, or projects created by club members

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Demonstrate excellent teamwork skill
  2. Utilize self-control should conflict arise
  3. Demonstrate leadership in problem solving with situations involving members
  4. Additional duties as assigned by supervisor

Other Requirements:

  • CPR and First Aid certification (preferred)
  • Acceptable background check
  • Successfully complete New Employee Orientation and any additional training requirements
