Status: Part-time, full-time, seasonal, on-call.
Reports to: Executive Chef
Supervises: Kitchen Team Members
Pay Range: $18 - $22/ hour
Job Summary: The Kitchen Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily culinary operations for all dining outlets and banquet facilities, ensuring food preparation adheres to established recipes and standards. This role focuses on delivering outstanding service and financial profitability while supervising cooks and stewards and maintaining food safety and sanitation standards.
Essential Functions and Duties:
Supervises and coordinates the activities of cooks and stewards during assigned shifts.
Prepares food items and ensures orders are executed according to designated recipes and quality standards.
Ensures all stations are properly set prior to service and that closing duties are performed.
Monitors cleanliness and ensures compliance with food sanitation standards at all times.
Oversees inventory, ensuring sufficient stock of kitchen supplies and food.
Maintains quality and consistency of all food served during assigned shifts.
Prepares requisitions for food and supplies as needed.
Assists in controlling food costs and labor by adjusting schedules based on occupancy and workload.
Supports management in training, counseling, disciplining, and coaching staff.
Reports maintenance and security issues to the appropriate department promptly.
Ensures proper food handling and storage procedures are followed according to regulations.

Required Experience, Education, and Skills:
Minimum of two years of culinary education or four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
At least two years of experience in a culinary leadership role, preferably in a hotel environment.
Strong understanding of food product options, standard recipes, and preparation methods.
Banquet experience is preferred.
Ability to read and follow Banquet Event Orders.
Must be able to obtain required government licenses or certifications, such as the State Health certificate; CPR or First Aid training is preferred.
Flexibility to work AM or PM shifts as needed.
Strong supervisory skills, including the ability to train, counsel, and motivate team members.
Work Environment:
Primarily works in an indoor environment near moving mechanical parts with exposure to extreme heat.
Frequent exposure to cleaning chemicals throughout the day.
Flexibility to work varied hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
