Position Summary:
The Dental Lab Manager oversees the daily operations of a dental laboratory, ensuring high-quality fabrication of dental prosthetics, efficient workflow management, regulatory compliance, and strong team performance. This role combines technical dental lab expertise with leadership, scheduling, quality control, and customer service responsibilities.
Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of dental lab experience, including supervisory or management roles.
- Strong understanding of dental anatomy, prosthetics, CAD/CAM systems, and materials.
- Proficiency with digital dentistry tools (3D scanners, milling units, CAD software).
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and leadership abilities.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced production environment.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Dental Technology or related field (preferred).
- CDT (Certified Dental Technician) certification strongly preferred.
- Armenian or Russian speaking Highly Preferable
Laboratory Operations & Quality Control
- Oversee daily production of crowns, bridges, dentures, implants, orthodontic appliances, and other dental restorations.
- Plan and monitor workflow to meet production deadlines and optimize laboratory efficiency.
- Ensure all products meet clinical specifications, industry standards, and aesthetic requirements.
- Conduct final inspections and troubleshoot quality issues.
- Maintain calibration and performance of lab equipment; arrange repairs and maintenance as needed.
- Manage inventory of materials, tools, and supplies.
- Track case production, performance metrics, and turnaround times.
- Support billing activities and coordinate with office administration.
- Supervise, train, and mentor dental lab technicians and support staff.
- Ensure the team stays on top of assigned cases and meets all deadlines in a timely and organized manner.
- Serve as the primary contact for dentists, dental offices, and clinical teams.
- Review case prescriptions, discuss design considerations, and resolve concerns.
- Offer technical support regarding materials, design options, and lab capabilities.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, FDA, HIPAA, and other regulatory requirements.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized laboratory environment.
- Oversee infection control protocols and waste management procedures.
