The Operations Performance Data Analyst is a strategic enabler of operational excellence and provides analytical problem-solving and decision support for strategic problems being worked on by the Operations Strategy team. They ensure that data and insight is available in a timely and relevant way to support operations across the global business. They also define and deliver near-real time and historic performance insights to enable operational delivery and improvement. What You’ll Do
Work with all Worldwide Operations teams to agree and deliver an appropriate suite of operational metrics underpinning performance, cost, customer experience and employee targets. Ensure accurate, timely and relevant data and insight is provided to continuously improve operational performance (including KPIs, SLAs, and productivity metrics). Analyse performance data trends and conduct root cause analysis to identify prioritised opportunities for improvement. Identify trends, risks, and opportunities for performance improvement. Develop and maintain dashboards that provide real-time visibility into operational performance. Drive improvements through more efficient reporting using automation. Identify gaps in data availability and propose practical solutions. Scope and lead or support improvement projects as required. Contribute to the definition, elaboration, communication and implementation of the Worldwide Operations strategy, taking into account trends, technology and business data. Represent Worldwide Operations across IAG Cargo to ensure operational data requirements are clear and delivered. Act as the interface between Worldwide Operations and the IAG Cargo Data & Analytics teams to support provision and validation of data, metric development and data visualisation. Ensure adherence to the governance structure for regular review of operational performance across all areas. Contribute to the provision of reporting on performance data to the IAG Cargo Executive Team via weekly and monthly packs and narratives, and contribute to business reviews. Act as key member of the Worldwide Operations Strategy leadership team, providing guidance and support to other functions including Resource Planning and People Performance. It’s all about you
We are looking for a strategic thinker with an investigative mindset and strong analytical rigour. We are not necessarily looking for deep expertise in any particular analytical tools. What we are looking for is someone that can learn new ones fast, enjoys debugging with a calm and methodical approach, has critical thinking to assess data quality, and is able to add value iteratively. You should feel comfortable with ambiguity and have the resourcefulness and curiosity to uncover solutions, even when the tools are not yet perfect and the data is incomplete. You should have excellent communication skills and the ability to engage senior stakeholders with business-focused insights. Experience in data or business analysis is essential, ideally within transportation, logistics, supply chain, or transformation environments. You should be collaborative, proactive, and capable of driving capability uplift and business development through data-led initiatives. To Apply
To Apply, Candidates Must Hold a 2:2 degree or above (or equivalent) in Data Analytics, Business, Operations Management, or a related highly numeric field. Have relevant experience in data or business analysis. Have proficiency in MS Office (particularly Excel), SQL and BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau). Have the right to live and work full-time in the UK indefinitely. Be willing to work in different locations and business functions, duty travel and/or shift work may be required depending on placement. Be able to pass a Criminal Record Check. Nice to Have
It Would Be Helpful, But Not Essential To Have Experience with Lean, Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies. Knowledge of Python as well as AI application to data analysis. Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Snowflake). Background in air cargo or complex operational environments. Benefits
