POSITION SUMMARY

Position Summary

The Development Assistant provides essential administrative and operational support to the Development team, with a primary focus on gift processing, donor acknowledgment, donor communications, and event support. This role is critical to ensuring an excellent donor experience and supporting strategic donor engagement efforts. The Development Assistant will also assist with donor stewardship activities, including making thank-you calls to donors, and will be responsible for scheduling and coordinating donor meetings and outreach for the CEO and the Executive Director of LightHouse.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately process donations from all sources and enter gifts into Raiser's Edge.
  • Prepare and send timely, personalized gift acknowledgments and thank-you letters.
  • Process tribute and memorial gifts and prepare notifications.
  • Maintain donor data accuracy, integrity, and consistency.
  • Run basic queries, exports, and reports to support fundraising and stewardship.
  • Draft donor correspondence and stewardship communications.
  • Make donor thank-you calls and document interactions in the donor database.
  • Schedule and coordinate donor meetings and calls for the CEO and Executive Director of LightHouse.
  • Provide administrative and logistical support for fundraising events.
  • Support event registrations, guest lists, and post-event follow-up.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience required; bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of nonprofit development or administrative experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Raiser's Edge or other donor management systems required.
  • Experience supporting and scheduling for senior leadership (CEO/Executive Director level).
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and confidentiality.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $25.00 per hour
