Host

We are currently looking for a talented Host to join our team at Nueva Cantina. Our Hosts maintain a commitment to guest service, ensuring a positive and welcoming experience for all patrons while providing efficient and friendly service. Hosts are responsible for greeting guests, managing reservations, and overseeing the flow of the dining room.

All duties will be performed within the guidelines of Nueva Cantina's policies and procedures, Internal Control Standards, and objectives.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma (or equivalent), previous experience in guest service or hospitality, and a passion for creating a welcoming and positive environment for all guests.

Candidates must have excellent communication skills, a positive attitude , and the ability to handle a variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment.

BASIC FUNCTIONS:

• Maintain a commitment to guest service and satisfaction.
• Manage guest flow in the restaurant, ensuring a smooth dining experience for all patrons.
• Greet guests upon arrival and seat them in a timely manner, considering their preferences and the restaurant's seating capacity.
• Ensure a clean, organized, and welcoming front-of-house environment.
• Assist with managing reservations, both over the phone and in-person.
• Monitor and manage waitlists, informing guests of wait times and keeping them updated on availability.
• Maintain excellent communication with servers, kitchen staff, and management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Previous experience in a similar role in a restaurant or hospitality setting is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of reservation systems and guest management tools.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Positive, professional, and friendly demeanor.
• Ability to multitask and handle high-pressure situations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Greet and welcome guests with a warm, friendly attitude as they arrive at the restaurant.
• Manage reservations, ensuring seating arrangements are organized and efficient.
• Assist in directing guests to their tables and provide information about wait times if necessary.
• Maintain a clean and organized host stand and dining room entrance area.
• Ensure accurate guest information is recorded, including special requests or preferences.
• Coordinate with servers and management to ensure optimal guest service.
• Manage the guest waitlist during busy periods, ensuring accurate and timely updates.
• Answer phones, take reservations, and provide information about the restaurant's menu, hours, and special events.
• Assist in seating guests efficiently and checking in with guests during their visit to ensure satisfaction.
• Work with the rest of the team to ensure a positive dining experience for every guest.
• Well-versed in handling guest complaints in a friendly and reassuring manner.
