Job Description:
For the past 60 years, from the dawn of the Space Age, our L3Harris weather business has been an industry-leading provider of high-precision, space-based instruments for severe weather tracking and forecasting and low-latency, high-throughput ground systems providing command, control, communications, data processing, and spectrum management for domestic and international customers. We are looking for a deputy portfolio lead who will be responsible for driving successful program execution, customer satisfaction, and financial performance in our Weather Ground business area. The on-site deputy portfolio lead will initiatives to ensure long-term business success including strategy development and talent succession planning as well as be accountable for the execution of all phases of programs from start-up to delivery.
Essential Functions:
Accountable for overall program performance commitments to include:
o Customer Satisfaction: Continually delighting our customers with our values, responsiveness, and overall mission performance
o Financial: Orders, sales, operating income, investment, cash flow, budget, and reserve forecasting and execution
o Schedule: Timely, responsive, and successful completion of all program activities (informal) and deliverables (formal)
o Quality: Program deliverables meet or exceed L3Harris and customer expectations
• Responsible for business strategy development including market and capability assessment and resulting product development and pursuit recommendations
• Ensure that all resources including staff and facilities are available to support the portfolio
• Prepare and provide reports and briefings to L3Harris leadership
• Opportunities for problem solving and innovation are regularly complex, requiring broad-based consideration of variables that impact multiple areas of the organization
• Ability to obtain US Government security clearance
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 15 years of prior related experience; Or, Graduate Degree with a minimum of 13 years of prior related experience; Or, in lieu of a degree, minimum of 19 years of prior related experience
Preferred Additional Skills:
• Large development program leadership experience
• Space industry experience
• Business strategy
• Strong customer relations with NASA, NOAA, or DOD customers
• Space industry experience
• Team leadership
