Solution Architect - £650 p/d (Outside IR35) – Hybrid Working based out of London We are looking for an experienced Solution Architect to support a major digital transformation programme for a global retail client. The role will work closely with existing commerce architecture teams, with a strong focus on SAP integration, order management, fulfilment, and product information domains. Responsibilities
Own the Digital Order fulfilment domain (including OMS, SAP and Carrier management) that form part of the organisations digital estate. Lead the end-to-end design and architecture for OMS and SAP domains (SAP S4 & SAP AFS) for digital fulfilment Additionally own the Digital Content areas of the digital estate – including Product Management, Content Management and Search Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand changes to the solution. Work closely with stakeholders including, EAs, SAs, POs, BAs, PMs, dev and third-party vendors to ensure alignment and delivery of project milestones. Define the solution in accordance with the architecture standards and get the appropriate approvals via the TDA. Assess existing systems, identify gaps, and propose optimal migration strategies. Design data migration approach including data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes ensuring data integrity and quality. Develop integration frameworks where appropriate to connect the comm platform with ERP, OMS, CRM, and other enterprise systems. Ensure solutions adhere to security, scalability, and performance standards. Provide architectural oversight during development, testing, and deployment phases of respective projects. Lead risk assessment and mitigation planning related to architecture and technical implementation. Document architecture artifacts, solution design, and provide training or knowledge transfer as needed. Experience working with hybrid teams consisting of teams onshore, nearshore and offshore. Good understanding of all aspects of SDLC: CI/CD set ups Automation testing approaches Release pipelines (weekly, daily etc) Good scrum practices – healthy requirements flow and high-level backlog estimation in story points Involvement in mid to long term roadmap planning and expectation setting (through SAFe, Nexus etc or just good practice) Initial Assignment Period
