Construction Foreman — Job Overview
A Construction Foreman oversees and coordinates the daily operations on a construction site to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and according to plans and specifications. This role acts as the primary point of communication between field crews, subcontractors, and project management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise, schedule, and direct onsite construction crews and subcontractors.
- Ensure work is performed in accordance with blueprints, project plans, and safety regulations.
- Coordinate material deliveries and manage onsite equipment and tools.
- Monitor daily progress, quality of work, and adherence to timelines.
- Enforce safety policies, conduct toolbox talks, and maintain a safe work environment.
- Communicate project updates, issues, and needs to the project manager or superintendent.
- Assist in problem-solving and provide hands-on support when needed.
- Maintain site documentation such as daily reports, timecards, and inspection logs.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
- Proficient in construction practices, tools, and equipment.
- Knowledge of OSHA and jobsite safety standards.
- Experience coordinating multiple trades and workflow.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
