Sales Associate

Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and customer-focused Sales Associate to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing excellent customer service, demonstrating products, and driving sales through effective upselling and merchandising. This role offers an opportunity to develop sales skills in a fast-paced environment, with responsibilities that include assisting customers, managing transactions, and maintaining the sales floor. Bilingual skills are a plus to better serve diverse clientele.

Duties

• Greet customers warmly and assist them in locating products within the store
• Operate POS systems efficiently for sales transactions, including cash handling and cashiering duties
• Conduct product demos to educate customers about features and benefits
• Upsell additional products or services to maximize sales opportunities
• Maintain attractive merchandise displays through merchandising and stocking
• Ensure the sales floor is clean, organized, and well-stocked at all times
• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries with professionalism and courtesy
• Assist with inventory management, including stock replenishment and inventory counts
• Support supervising staff as needed in overseeing daily store operations
• Use effective phone etiquette when communicating with customers or vendors

Qualifications

• Previous retail sales experience preferred, especially in grocery or similar environments
• Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling, and cashiering procedures
• Strong communication skills and the ability to engage customers effectively
• Basic math skills for retail math calculations such as change or discounts
• Experience with merchandising, stocking, and product demos is advantageous
• Bilingual abilities are a plus for serving a diverse customer base
• Supervising experience is beneficial but not required; leadership qualities are valued
• Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
