Job Summary
The Human Resources Manager supports a large, multi-location janitorial services organization by developing and executing HR strategies that strengthen workforce performance, safety, compliance, and employee engagement. This role manages HR operations for a diverse, hourly workforce across numerous customer sites. Responsibilities include leading recruitment, employee relations, labor compliance, safety initiatives, and HR administration while supervising office and HR support staff. The HR Manager partners closely with Area Managers and Operations Leadership to ensure consistent staffing, training, and performance standards across all accounts.
Key Responsibilities
Human Resources Leadership & Strategy
- Develop, implement, and manage HR programs, policies, and procedures tailored for a large, distributed janitorial workforce.
- Analyze turnover, attendance, and safety metrics to provide actionable insights to improve retention and operational effectiveness.
- Advise leadership on HR compliance, regulatory changes, and workforce planning across multiple customer contracts and regions.
- Support organizational growth by contributing to strategic planning for new contracts, acquisitions, and staffing expansions.
- Employee Relations & Performance Management
- Provide direct guidance to Area Managers on employee relations issues, including coaching, corrective action, customer-site conduct expectations, performance evaluations, and attendance management.
- Support employees in resolving performance, communication, or behavioral concerns, ensuring a fair and consistent approach.
- Participate in or lead HR segments of weekly Operations Meetings, including workforce trends, safety updates, and staffing priorities.
- Maintain visibility at field locations to build trust and alignment with team members and site supervisors.
Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
- Lead high-volume recruitment for hourly janitorial staff, leads, supervisors, and salaried roles across all divisions.
- Oversee applicant tracking, background checks, reference verification, and pre-hire compliance.
