Job Summary:
Prepares food according to regulations and Avow standards by performing the following duties. Special meal accommodations will be provided.
Essential Job Functions:
- Order food and kitchen supplies from supplier
- Check in and place food and supply delivers in proper storage areas.
- Prepare food according to recipes and directions.
- Prepare and prep food for the week to maintain consistency.
- Communicate with other kitchen staff as to what has been prepped for them to serve.
- Adjusts thermostat controls to regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, and grills.
- Prepare food and plate for serving.
- Assures food is served at proper temperature and presented according to regulations and Avow standards.
- Keep all food labled correctly and placed in the correct order in the refrigerator and freezer at all times.
- Keep family kitchens and the nurses stations supplied with drinks and snacks with the correct labels.
- Must be able to bake cookies, muffins, brownies, etc.
- Keep all kitchen equipment, floors, mats, walls, ceilings, ad vents clean.
- Maintain readiness at all times for inspection.
- Make sure all equipment is in working order, if not, notify supervisor and put in a ticket to have it fixed.
- Must be willing to be cross-trained in other departments if needed.
- All other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Computer Skills: Computer skills including database software and general knowledge of e-mail/Outlook. Ability to check patient menus on the computer. Process inventory or ordering supplies if needed.
Language Skills:
Communication skills of reading, writing, and speaking in English.
Mathematical Skills: Math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages/fractions.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Current Florida driver's license. Must have ServSafe Food Managers Certification or obtain certification within 90 Days. Must have Food Handlers Certification within 60 Days.
