Kitchen Helper

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Kitchen Helper to support our culinary team in a fast-paced food service environment. The ideal candidate will assist with food preparation, maintain cleanliness, and ensure food safety standards are upheld. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in gaining experience in the food industry and developing culinary skills. Prior restaurant or kitchen experience is preferred but not required, as training will be provided. The Kitchen Helper plays a vital role in ensuring smooth kitchen operations and delivering quality service to our customers.

Responsibilities

• Assist with meal preparation and food handling, including chopping, peeling, and assembling ingredients
• Support chefs and cooks with basic cooking tasks as needed
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen stations, utensils, and equipment to meet health and safety standards
• Follow proper food safety procedures during food handling and storage
• Prepare ingredients for cooking, including washing, cutting, and organizing supplies
• Ensure all food items are stored correctly and labeled appropriately
• Support catering services for events or special functions when required
• Assist with dishwashing and sanitation duties to keep the kitchen environment hygienic
• Help with serving food during meal times or special events as directed

Experience

• Previous experience in a restaurant, catering, or food service setting is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for suitable candidates
• Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and knife skills is advantageous
• Familiarity with food safety regulations and proper handling procedures is a plus
• Experience in meal or food preparation within the food industry or culinary environment is beneficial
• Strong teamwork skills and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting are essential
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills are highly valued

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $ $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
