We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to join our operations in Omaha, Nebraska. This role is vital to ensuring that all outgoing shipments are processed accurately and efficiently. Your responsibilities will include preparing shipping documents, coordinating with carriers, verifying shipment contents, and maintaining shipping logs. The ideal candidate will have excellent administrative skills and a solid understanding of shipping procedures within a logistics environment. Responsibilities:
- Prepare shipping labels, bills of lading, and other necessary shipping documentation.
- Coordinate with freight carriers to schedule pickups and deliveries.
- Verify the accuracy of outgoing shipments against orders, ensuring correct quantities and items.
- Inspect packages for damage prior to shipment.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and logs.
- Communicate with internal departments and external customers regarding shipment status.
- Assist in maintaining an organized and clean shipping area.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of PPE.
- Operate office equipment such as computers, printers, and scanners.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework in logistics or business is a plus.
- Previous experience in shipping, logistics, or a related administrative role.
- Proficiency in using shipping software and computer systems (e.g., MS Office).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic understanding of shipping regulations and carrier requirements.
- Ability to perform light lifting, up to 25 lbs.
- Commitment to workplace safety and awareness of necessary PPE.
