Are you detail-oriented and seeking a role in inventory management? We have an exciting opportunity for an Inventory Clerk at our facility in Chicago, Illinois. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our warehouse inventory. Your duties will include receiving, counting, organizing, and tracking stock levels, ensuring that our Logistics operations run smoothly and efficiently. This position requires a sharp eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to upholding Safety standards. You will work closely with warehouse associates and management to resolve inventory discrepancies and optimize storage solutions. While this role may involve some Lifting and moving of inventory, the primary focus is on accurate record-keeping and systematic organization. Comprehensive training and all necessary PPE will be provided to ensure your safety and effectiveness in this role.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
- Receive, document, and store incoming inventory.
- Organize and maintain inventory stock in designated areas.
- Update inventory records in the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Track the movement of inventory within the facility.
- Generate inventory reports as required.
- Inspect incoming goods for damage and ensure proper handling.
- Assist in optimizing warehouse layout and storage methods.
- Adhere to all Safety procedures and regulations.
- Utilize appropriate PPE , including safety vests and gloves.
- Support the overall Logistics team by providing accurate inventory data.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives related to inventory control.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous experience in inventory control, warehouse, or related field is highly desirable.
- Proficiency with inventory management software and systems (WMS).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical ability to perform tasks which may include some Lifting up to 30 lbs.
- Understanding of warehouse Safety protocols.
- Willingness to wear and use all required PPE .
