About
Will be responsible for management of the Facilities Department including development, implementation and maintenance of policies, systems and procedures for maintenance and grounds keeping. In addition, develop and communicate department objectives and select, develop, direct and evaluate department personnel in accordance with hospital policies, government regulations and good management practices.
Qualifications:
Establish, maintain and ensure compliance with the department fire and disaster plan.
Ensure inspection and test of alarm and sprinkler systems and extinguishers according to procedure; implement evacuation plans and fire and safety training programs.
Attend various meetings; participate on committees as needed.
Maintain current trades knowledge of new trends and concepts as applicable.
Knows Federal, State, and local regulations: NYS DOH, OSHA, DEC, CMS.
Understand the Joint Commission regulations.
Know the mechanics of the building, map and catalog existing and new lines
Maintains current knowledge of appropriate building codes, new trends in technical concepts as applicable. Participates in in-service programs as required.
All internal/external construction projects need to be physically inspected, assessed, and signed off. Includes continuous visuals of progress and completion.
Be able to prioritize the needs of Administration, Clinical, and Safety in real time, including financial considerations.
MANAGERIAL:
Interpret and communicate hospital policies and goals and develop department objectives with supporting action plans, methods and procedures.
Direct, supervise and coordinate the activities and functions of the department with the Director of the department. Includes active interaction with staff and onsite assessments of progress and completion.
Define and communicate standards of quality and performance and ensure compliance with all staff of the Facilities Department.
Ensure effective utilization of services and facilities; analyze strengths, development needs, and corrective actions to be taken.
Establish an on-going quality assurance evaluation system, identify problems, and take corrective action as required. Includes follow-up of all corrective actions.
Maintain current knowledge of governmental and regulatory agencies standards, rules, regulations and codes, and ensure compliance as applicable.
Maintain current knowledge of hospital policy and procedures, and labor contracts, and ensure compliance.
Establish and maintain a working relationship with other departments within the ACH, AMMS, and FLCL networks.
Qualifications:
Requires an Associate's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and 7 to 10 years of experience.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and 5 to 7 years of experience.
Payrate: $85/hour
