About
You will:
- Develop and execute Matternet's overall manufacturing strategy to meet current and future production demands, ensuring scalability and cost-effectiveness.
- Engage with external manufacturing partners and vendors as needed, ensuring strong relationships and effective collaboration.
- Develop, document, and implement manufacturing processes for Matternet aircraft and accessories.
- Coordinate implementation of changes to design and process to ensure smooth transition between revisions of parts and products.
- Create and maintain KPIs for manufacturing to monitor progress and changes in output or quality.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across all manufacturing processes, leveraging lean manufacturing principles and data-driven analysis to optimize efficiency and reduce waste.
- Collaborate closely with Engineering, Supply Chain, and Operations teams to ensure seamless transitions from design to manufacturing and to resolve any manufacturing-related challenges.
- Optimize the manufacturing space including material storage, product flow, and line layouts.
- Design and implement jigs, fixtures, and manufacturing aids.
- Provide feedback to Engineering teams to improve product designs for manufacturability.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline such as Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or a related technical field or equivalent practical experience; Master's degree preferred.
- 7+ years experience building complex electromechanical products in significant volume.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, including assembly, testing, and automation.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across different teams.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and safety standards relevant to manufacturing.
- Experience working with contract manufacturers.
- Ability to interpret technical engineering drawings.
- Demonstrated experience scaling manufacturing operations.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a collaborative mindset, with a history of effectively working in cross-functional team environments.
- Experience in designing an aircraft system
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and safety standards relevant to UAVs
- Knowledge of electrical systems integration
- This is an onsite role with opportunities for hands-on work in a manufacturing setting.

- Salary $150k-$200k plus stock options. This is a general range based on data from the SF bay area. Final compensation is based on level, experience and location
