Opportunity awaits a skilled Material Handler at our key logistics facility in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This role is crucial for maintaining the efficient flow of goods within our warehouse, supporting both receiving and shipping departments. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating material handling equipment, managing inventory, and ensuring materials are accurately moved and stored. Key Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload shipments from trucks and containers.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Accurately count and document materials handled.
- Maintain inventory levels and assist with stocktaking as needed.
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and free of hazards.
- Adhere strictly to all company Safety policies and procedures.
- Conduct daily inspections of material handling equipment and report any defects.
- Support efficient logistics operations by ensuring timely material movement.
- Ensure proper use of all required PPE during operational tasks.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a warehouse setting is preferred. Ability to perform physical duties, including Lifting up to 50 pounds regularly. Proficiency in operating various types of forklifts and pallet jacks. Knowledge of warehouse Safety procedures and best practices. Familiarity with logistics and supply chain operations is an advantage. Must be reliable, detail-oriented, and a team player. A strong commitment to Safety is a prerequisite for this role.
