Join our thriving logistics center in Des Moines, Iowa, as a skilled Forklift Operator! We are looking for experienced and certified forklift operators to efficiently move, stack, and retrieve inventory within our fast-paced warehouse. This role is vital for maintaining the smooth flow of goods from receiving to shipping. Safety and precision are paramount in this position. The ideal candidate will possess a valid forklift certification, a strong work ethic, and a proven track record of safe operation. Key Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) safely and efficiently to transport materials within the warehouse.
- Load and unload trucks, trailers, and containers with accuracy and care.
- Stack and store inventory in designated areas, ensuring proper placement and stability.
- Retrieve items from storage locations for order fulfillment or replenishment.
- Conduct pre-operational checks on forklifts and report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Follow all Safety guidelines and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, free from obstructions.
- Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts as needed.
- Collaborate with warehouse associates and supervisors to ensure efficient workflow.
- Properly use required PPE, including safety vests and steel-toed boots.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Valid forklift certification is mandatory. Proven experience operating various types of forklifts. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks. Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness. Knowledge of warehouse operations and inventory management is beneficial. Understanding of logistics and supply chain processes is an advantage.
