Join our team in Des Moines, Iowa, as a Picker/Packer and become a key player in our efficient logistics operations. This role is fundamental to fulfilling customer orders accurately and promptly. As a Picker/Packer, you will be responsible for locating, retrieving, and packaging a wide variety of products within our warehouse. Your daily tasks will involve using scanning equipment to ensure precision and speed, maintaining organization in your work area, and preparing items for shipment. We are dedicated to providing a safe and productive work environment, and thorough training will be provided on all procedures and the importance of using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). A strong attention to detail is paramount to minimize errors and ensure customer satisfaction. This position requires physical stamina, the ability to work efficiently at a steady pace, and a commitment to teamwork. Understanding basic logistics principles and a willingness to contribute to the overall success of the warehouse are essential. You should be comfortable with lifting items up to 50 lbs as part of your regular duties. Your dedication to accuracy and safety is highly valued.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick items from warehouse locations according to order specifications.
- Pack items securely and efficiently into appropriate shipping containers.
- Utilize RF scanners or pick lists to identify and gather products.
- Verify order accuracy before packing and shipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the correct use of PPE.
- Assist with inventory cycle counts as needed.
- Report any issues with products or equipment to supervisors.
- Contribute to team efforts to meet daily fulfillment goals.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in picking, packing, or warehouse work is beneficial.
- Ability to read and interpret order instructions.
- Proficiency with hand-held scanners is a plus.
- Must be able to stand, walk, and lift for extended periods.
- Capability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good organizational and time-management skills.
- Reliable and punctual attendance.
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced logistics environment.
Shift: Afternoon Shift, Tuesday - Saturday
