Role Overview
The Applications Architect will lead the design, development, and implementation of enterprise and cloud-native applications. This role requires deep expertise in Java-based architectures, microservices, and modern cloud platforms, along with the ability to guide development teams and align technical solutions with business goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead architecture and design of cloud-native and enterprise applications
- Participate hands-on in application development while enforcing architectural best practices
- Design scalable, secure, and high-performance systems
- Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to translate requirements into solutions
- Guide teams on modern architecture standards, patterns, and methodologies
Minimum Required Skills (8+ Years Each)
- Java EE, Spring Boot, and microservices frameworks
- Cloud platforms: AWS or Google Cloud
- Containerization: Docker, Kubernetes
- API design and integration: REST, GraphQL
- CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible)
- Cloud-native security best practices
- Relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB)
- Event-driven architectures and messaging (Kafka, RabbitMQ)
- Domain-Driven Design (DDD)
- Exposure to serverless and cloud-native services
Preferred Qualifications
- Observability tools: Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack
- Performance tuning and high-availability strategies
- Cloud cost optimization experience
- Healthcare industry experience
- Strong understanding of SDLC, IT processes, and enterprise architecture
- Consulting and facilitation skills with strong stakeholder communication
- Leadership mindset with proactive and detail-oriented approach
- Certifications: AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Architect (preferred)
- Experience with Texas or other state eligibility systems
