Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Earthwork Superintendent to oversee earthmoving and construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction management, project scheduling, and site supervision, with expertise in heavy civil projects such as pipelines and infrastructure development. This role requires a detail-oriented leader capable of managing multiple teams, ensuring safety compliance, and maintaining project quality and timelines using advanced construction management software.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise earthwork operations on construction sites, ensuring adherence to project plans, schematics, and blueprints.
- Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, and clients to meet project objectives and deadlines.
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules utilizing construction management software.
- Oversee budgeting, cost control, and resource allocation to ensure project efficiency.
- Conduct quality control inspections to verify work meets specifications and safety standards.
- Manage safety protocols in compliance with OSHA regulations, promoting a culture of safety on-site.
- Review scope of work, and technical schematics to ensure accurate execution of tasks.
- Supervise field personnel, including hiring, training, evaluating performance, and ensuring proper supervision during all phases of earthwork activities.
- Utilize tools such as Ohmmeter for electrical testing when necessary for site utilities or equipment.
- Prepare reports on project progress, issues, and safety incidents for stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction management with a focus on earthwork or heavy civil projects.
- Strong supervisory skills with previous supervising experience on large-scale projects.
- Knowledge of construction site safety standards (OSHA).
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately.
- Familiarity with project scheduling, budgeting, quality control procedures, and contract management.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to coordinate multiple teams effectively.
- Relevant certifications such as OSHA certification are highly desirable.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $78,000.00 per year
