About
Headfarmer is partnering with a fast-growing, privately held manufacturing and consumer products company seeking a
hands-on Controller
to lead day-to-day accounting operations and strengthen financial processes during a period of rapid expansion.
This role is ideal for a Controller who enjoys being close to the business, rolling up their sleeves, developing people, and helping scale systems and structure in a dynamic environment.
What You'll Do
- Lead and oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, and general ledger
- Own asset, liability, lease, and inventory accounting
- Drive accurate, timely weekly, monthly, and quarterly financial reporting
- Prepare and analyze gross margin, inventory valuation, and cost accounting data
- Assist with month-end close, including journal entries and inventory rollforwards
- Establish, document, and enforce accounting processes, controls, and procedures
- Monitor cash flow, budget variances, and weekly cash position reporting
- Build and oversee the budgeting process and support forecasting efforts
- Prepare revenue forecasts and provide narrative analysis comparing forecasts to actuals
- Maintain and test internal controls and support audits and compliance requirements
- Partner with external auditors and CPA firms on reconciliations, reviews, and tax filings
- Communicate effectively with leadership, vendors, service providers, and internal teams
- Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team while assessing future hiring needs
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, system cleanup, and efficiency gains
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (required)
- Strong
manufacturing accounting experience
(required) - Hands-on leadership experience managing and developing accounting teams
- Deep experience with: Inventory and cost accounting, Margin analysis, Month-end close and financial reporting
- Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience is required
- High attention to detail with the ability to connect the dots across the business
- Confident communicator who can advocate for resources, ask questions, and drive clarity
- Self-starter with a problem-solving mindset — adaptable, resourceful, and resilient
- Comfortable operating in a growing, evolving environment where priorities can shift
Work Model & Environment
- Initially in-office to learn the business and systems
- Transition to a
hybrid schedule
