Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Chiropractic Assistant / Receptionist to join our dynamic healthcare team. Duties
- Greet patients warmly, verify insurance coverage, and schedule appointments using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic, Meditech, or eClinicalWorks
- Manage patient intake processes, including data entry, documentation review, and updating medical records with accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Assist chiropractors with clinical tasks such as preparing treatment rooms, supporting documentation review for care plans, and handling medical coding including CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10 codes for billing purposes
- Verify insurance benefits, process claims, and perform medical collections efficiently using systems like Athenahealth or Dentrix
- Answer multi-line phone systems professionally while providing excellent customer service and addressing patient inquiries promptly
- Maintain organized filing of medical records and ensure proper documentation of patient visits and treatment plans
- Support office management tasks including appointment scheduling, billing support, and managing electronic health information using software like Eaglesoft or Hospital experience systems
Experience
- Prior clinic or dental office experience is highly preferred, especially in a healthcare setting involving medical billing and coding
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding, and Medicare guidelines
- Proven experience with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, eClinicalWorks, or Athenahealth
- Familiarity with insurance verification processes and medical collections procedures
- Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and office management software like Eaglesoft or Dentrix
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively
- Demonstrated customer service skills with the ability to handle phone etiquette professionally in a fast-paced environment
